CorporateWords is a dictionary of the language people actually speak at work: the acronyms, buzzwords, and euphemisms of corporate life, each defined twice — what it officially means, and what it actually means in the room.
The dictionary started as a private decoder file, kept across years of corporate meetings, and grew until it seemed a shame to keep it private. Every entry is written or edited by hand in a consistent house voice, and every tone check reflects how the term is really used in actual workplaces, not how a press release would use it.
The dictionary currently holds 556 terms and grows continuously — partly from research, partly from reader submissions, which are reviewed and edited before joining the public dictionary. If you have jargon we're missing, use the Submit Term button on the homepage. If we got something wrong, tell us at hello@corporatewords.com; being corrected by people who sat through the meeting is exactly how this is supposed to work.
CorporateWords is reader-supported through advertising. We don't sell anything ourselves except, arguably, mild professional cynicism, which is free.
