Leverage
To use something for advantage. Corporate's favorite verb; anything can be leveraged — assets, relationships, learnings, tragedy. The word 'use' survives on a technicality.
Heard in the wild
“Let's leverage the existing vendor relationship to speed up procurement.”
Tone check: Cliché
In finance, a precise term about debt. Everywhere else, say 'use' and reclaim four syllables of your life.
